Housing - Kingsbridge

Previous Arrow Next Arrow

The masterplan devises a framework for the phased redevelopment of the eastern part of
the 1960’s Gascoigne Estate in Barking. The proposed neighbourhood reintegrates with the
surrounding Edwardian terraces, parks, industrial areas, the River Roding as well as Barking
Town centre through a repaired network of streets, landscaped public squares and residential
gardens. The densified block structure accommodates a balance of homes, two new schools,
a  health care centre and community centre that will serve the wider area.

This project was secured through a mini-tender process after our successful appointment to
Lot 1 & 2 on the 6th of October 2015 for the 4 year London Borough of Barking & Dagenhams
Major Construction Framrework.

The project comprises construction of a proposed residential development consisting of the
construction of 27 new residential units, including 15 terrace houses resulting in a total of 21
3-bed units and 6 2-bed units with associated car and cycle parking and open spaces.
Currently, the site is a mostly level, empty parcel of land with residential housing on the east
and south boundaries, and open road on the north and west. There are no structures within
the site, which has largely become overgrown. These works are part of the larger Gascoigne
East Regeneration Scheme
