Previous Arrow Next Arrow

Demolition of an existing 1960’s teaching block, extensive drainage diversions.Construction of a three storey building including piled foundations, reinforced concrete frame including staircases and lift shaft, facing brick clad with single ply membrane roof, feature “saw-tooth” windows clad in brass, and northern facing roof lights. Velfac composite windows incorporating air-intake louvres for natural ventilation.

Internal soffites are fair-faced concrete, used to provide thermal mass as part of the building’s heating and ventilation strategy. The building is heated by gas fired boilers serving underfloor heating to classrooms and larger areas, with some radiators in corridors and small spaces. The mechanical ventilation system uses heat recovery units and chilled air is provided by VRV ceiling cassettes and condenser units mounted externally.
